Few weeks back Vive La Vida held their first whisky tasting by Glenfiddich Single Malt Scotch. This is one of the cheapest whisky tasting event at RM20 you’ll be able to taste Glenfiddich 12, 15, 18 and 21 plus finger food. What a deal!

The event is quite good for beginner as this is a simple straight forward whisky tasting, not something too deep that layman can’t follow. Visual are shown for easy understanding plus ingredient are prepare to let the consumer find the scent and aroma.

Barry the spoke person for Glenfiddich educate the crowd. Around 30 peoples turn out for this event which is good, as the smaller the group better interaction with the speaker.

The audience also watch video of how Single Malt Whisky is made. The video is quite cool and with visual it make much more easier to understand. The step by step process and the surrounding that give the whisky their character. The whisky tasting are paired with visual really can learn a lot and easy to understand.

Barry will also go down and chat with the audience and received question and answered them. I hope the crowd can understand and learn a lot from this whisky tasting. For me is always very important to educate consumer, more outlet should do this kind of tasting either is beer, wine or whisky. So consumer can learn and understand what they drink. Can’t wait for another Vive La Vida tasting. That would be nice!

Vive La Vida @ IOI Boulevard, a new lifestyle pub open next door to Munich Gastro Bierhaus. Vive La Vida mean live your life. For me I think the name is quite meaningful. Everyone of us must live our life differently, same goes with choosing your drinks. Of course Vive La Vida make sound more fun… haha

I like the ambient of this place, I have to said it doesn’t really look or feel like latino style but the place is for sure have nice ambient mood to dine and drink. I get comfy very easy with warm light.

Many comfy area to choose and sit. The soft music with the warm light really make this place very welcoming. You can choose to sit in the inside to have a private section with friends.

Or just hang around the bar for the usual pub hang out. The bar is actually quite nice to be as it have nice comfy chair to sit and good selection of drinks just in front of you.

You can see the selection of whisky, vodka, tequila, brandy…. I good wide range to choose from. It will be quite tempted to try all the liquor when you sitting on the bar. It’s always a pleasure to have a nice bar area in the pub.

But for those that need more fresh air and simple drinking, you can always opt for the corridor area. They have a wide space area which for those who don’t like to cramp inside.

But the bar is still my favourite area, as I can sit down there watch the tele while chatting with friends. Sitting in the pub also give you the whole view of the place.

They have a big selection of beer as well. On tap they have Connor’s, Tetleys and Hoegaarden, on bottles they have Weihenstephan, Franziskaner, Leffe, Budweiser, Konig Luwig… to choose from. Beside that you can also order from next door tap as both outlet are the same owner. Even you can order Munich’s food and dine at Vive La Vida or vice versa.

This place provide not only drinking fun but also food satisfaction. Bar snack or heavy meals is up to your own choosing. The food pairing with drink are endless, as you can explore you taste bud with the selection of food and varieties of drink that are available.

Overall I like the setting of the place, especially the bar. I love those funky light too. Only thing I don’t felt is the Latino feel. Is more like a fusion of lifestyle pub, which have all the good formula to make this place nice and cosy for a chill out night. Cheers for a nice hang out joint!

Every Friday and Saturday, IOI Boulevard will have live band from 9pm-12pm. So if you drop by Vive La Vida the newly open latino outlet you can enjoy the live band music.

If you are at Munich, you’ll also able to enjoy the live band as the live band is just in front of Munich. So fancy for some fancy live music during you Friday and Saturday evening, drop by IOI Boulevard for some chill night!
