Since this year all my friends got their own activities with their family so it will be a lonely NYE for me. But I’m not going to let that spoiled my NYE, I decided to do bar hopping on my favourite places for NYE. So I started the day young and first stop is to my usual hang out at Sid’s Pub @ Plaza Damansara. Have a couple of Guinness while planning where should I go next.

I decided to go to the most hidden place, which is Tate @ Intermark, Jalan Tun Razak. This is one of my favourite place just that is a bit too far from my house. Plus is a good hide out area.

My first cocktail is Earl Grey Martini. Earl Grey infuse gin, egg white… etc can’t remember all the ingredients. Of course it’s normally serve in nice tall cocktail glass, I requested to serve it this way, look more manly… haha, plus easier to hold.

Few reasons I love this place, one of it is during that hour not much souls will be there. So I was playing pool with the staff (please don’t tell boss). Is quite fun, chit chat with the bartenders to improve my alcohol knowledge.

Then the Bartender make me something quite nice. Ingredients include digestive liquor, Ginseng spirit, tonic water… etc. This drink is lovely, too bad is a special creation, no name yet. I just called it NYE special then.

Then I move to next door, Estate @ Intermark, Jalan Tun Razak. This place is just newly open few weeks back. Is the big Brother to Tate. Estate, Tate… get it?

So they introduce me to this beer, Estrella Damm Inedit. I don’t have much impression with Estrella beer, so I was ignoring it, plus the price tag is around RM76 or 78 for a 750ml bottle, can’t really recalled. So with that steep price I was quite reluctant, then they mention the beer is inspired and crafted by “ElBulli” (one of the best restaurant in the world). Without a doubt I order one and shared with the bartenders. Is a very nice food pairing beer, a must try if you having it with food. (I can be bias about ElBulli, forgive me if you don’t like it).

Then the manager there introduce to me something I sure like – Beer Can Chicken. Hesitate for a while, but since I’m quite hungry and they willing to share with me, I ordered.

Just in case you wonder why it’s called beer can chicken, I zoom in the picture so you can see the butt of the chicken is shaft with a beer can. Freaking good meal paired nicely with the Estrella Damm Inedit… purely satisfied. After that have one more glass of Weihenstephan Hefeweiss before moving on.

Then I plan to move on to Taps Beer Bar to greet my New Year with beer I never tasted, but most of the road to city centre were closed. As I was riding my bike halfway, fireworks started to lit the night sky. So I just stop my bike on the side of the highway.

Just like every single people that got caught in the jam. One lane is moving, while the other lane is jammed up with parked car. Horn by the car can be heard through out the 10 minutes of firework displayed. Although I’m alone there celebrating NYE, is was quite fun to be on the road with hundreds of the rest of the people on the road side watching fireworks and cheering.

Of course, I didn’t manage to do 5 places which I intended. I just rest my case and went back to Sid’s Pub @ Plaza Damansara to add one more on the road. Surprisingly, my first drink of the new year is actually Jagermeister…. WTF? After that Cider on ice. Didn’t start my new year with a single drop of beer. Maybe next year then. But still appreciated very much to all the people I chat, mingle, play pool, eat and of course drink with on my NYE.
Hope you guys have a great NYE as well. Have a great year ahead. Cheers!
