A Classic & Sleek Hang Out!

March 28, 2021 – 10:05 am Comments Off

Jarrod & Rawlins just recently open a new outlet at Jalan Bangkung, Bangsar. Is not a really well known street of Bangsar compare to Maarof or Telawi but is where the local residents like to come to. A more quiet street compare to Telawi.

J&R moved their Hartamas outlet to here and change the all new feel to it yet remains some of J&R identity.

Of course for me, the first thing that capture my eyes when I enter is the alcohol racks that have plenty of wines and liquor lining up.

The next thing is the bar. The middle rectangle bar with white marble top looks fantastic. it basically split the place into 2 sections. The front seems more like drinking place while the back looks more like a dinning area.

Pale fade green colour on the wall brings out the white pillar and ceiling of the place, making it look very classy. The hanging of vintage style pictures enhance the classy look.

Everything in this place looks quite sleek and clean. With some big mirrors to make the place look longer and bigger. To give the place a nicer depth.

The warm lighting here make the whole place very cosy. I like the ceiling plaster design, is simple yet brings some esthetic to it. If the chandelier is bigger, this place will look even more classy, But a mix of contemporary make the place slightly modern as well.

One of the interesting things is the old school automatic door shut, by using a pulley that attached to a weight jar. Every time you open the door, the weight will slowly shut the door.

Of course, J&R is famous for their food. With good selection of wines will encourage some good pairing. This trip here I didn’t manage to grab the food, as long as they have the same menu, the food here will be awesome with some drinks.

I tend to drink Tiger here, not sure why I always find J&R Tiger is slightly more crispier then other places or just my own imagination. Selection of beer here a quite limited with only Tiger and Guinness with addition of Strongbow Cider.

They also have some board games just in case you got board with your mate. In this case, maybe you want to get your friend high, a glass shot ladders game will show change the mood of your gathering… haha

On the end note, I find the place very sleek and clean. A nice environment to have gathering with friends, a simple chill out to catch up or just some hang out time at the bar. Everything seems good and simple neighbourhood hang out place. If you are at this area, check it out. Cheers!

When the beer poured out?
Very nice vanilla, floral sweetness towards caramel hint.

How’s the taste?
The entry have a nice complex caramel sweetness, fizzy with nice carbonation. The finishing have a unique flavour. At 9.2% abv the beer do let out a slight alcohol hint when it turn warm. It’s a well full flavour beer and very well balanced.

What’s the colour?
Cloudy brownish red.

Where to drink?
Drank it in @ Brux-Ale, Bangsar.

My Opinion:
Have a very unique taste to it, the sweetness is a bit different from other beer. Heavy alcohol yet very balance in taste. Love the aroma of the beer. Have a good impression on this beer.
