Drama Unfold In Lorong Rahim Kijai, TTDI

October 7, 2020 – 9:19 am 1 Comment

Yesterday (6 Oct 2020) around 9am in the morning, a big group of DBKL workers come to Lorong Rahim Kijai, TTDI to torn up all the extension and railing on the pavement and corridors.

Almost all the pubs there got hit including 1 pet shop. As you can see the picture above, the TDH front foyer got strip naked.

Even Sid’s Pub railing got taken down. After so many years suddenly, this street is now become a focus of DBKL. The night before all the tables got confiscated by DBKL for putting on the corridor and pavement. By law the pubs owner are not suppose to have anything there as it is the municipal property.

The pub owner was saying that, there’s no notice or warning. They came, they saw and basically empty out the extensions. Of course it is reported that at least 40-50 DBKL workers are there, as usual only a few are working and the rest just entertain themselves with the demolition.

Debris of woods, crush flood board, dust are all over the floor in front of those heavy demolish pubs. Why can’t DBKL have a talk to the owners and come out with some good solutions, rather then just showing off their power.

Ironically, just few steps away an illegal stall are down there selling food without proper license and permit. When ask about “why they don’t chase the stall away”, their typical answer is “that is under different department”.

I wish DBKL can handle it more properly. I believe there is a better solution then just come and torn down the place without proper notice or warning. It is just sad.

In the spirit to spread one of the world’s oldest festivals to Malaysians nationwide, Guinness Anchor Berhad (GAB) organised a special beer preview at Jarrod & Rawlins today to introduce its wider selection of iconic beers for the month-long Oktoberfest celebration.

This year’s Oktoberfest celebration will feature GAB iconic beers Tiger, Guinness, Heineken, Anchor, Kilkenny, Strongbow and Paulaner as well as special beers from Germany – 111 Zwickl Beer, Hopf Ice Wheat Beer and the official beer of the Munich Oktoberfest, Paulaner Oktoberfest Bier.

The preview saw a turnout of bloggers and media members who were in for a surprise as they participated in a blind tasting session, having to guess the three special beers based on their characteristics and tastes.

Shirley Low, Head of Trade Marketing of GAB said “With our diverse portfolio of award winning beers, we are in the best position to bring more unique international celebrations to our Malaysian consumers. This year we are proud to offer them one of the most iconic beers of Oktoberfest itself, the Paulaner Oktoberfest Bier that have gained many praises from beer enthusiasts across the world.”

According to Shirley, Oktoberfest is a world-wide celebration that brings friends and families together. In support of that spirit of unity, GAB has invested greatly in this year’s Oktoberfest with the aim to reward more consumers nationwide with wider beer choices and experiences throughout the month long celebration of parties and promotions.

“Each selection of beer prepared for our consumers this festive month comes with a unique history, distinctive characteristic and exceptional taste. For that reason I urge Malaysian beer lovers to take hold of this rare opportunity to experience some of the world’s finest beers at our selected outlets together with your friends and families” she added.

Paulaner Oktoberfest Bier
With 377 years of history, this bright yellow coloured, rich malty aroma, pleasantly taste, full-bodied beer has been regarded as a beer that is synonym with the world’s oldest drinking festival, the Munich Oktoberfest. Its alcohol content of 6% and original gravity of 13.5% makes it stronger than usual lager beer. With a hint of malty sweetness, this Oktoberfest Beer provides a perfect balance on the palate that is best paired with roast pork knuckles.

Hopf Ice Wheat Beer
Known as the ‘hip-hop’ white beer, attributed by its cool Husky logo, Hopf Ice Wheat Beer uses ice conditioned wheat where excess water from the wheat is extracted through freezing, giving more depth to the flavor and body. This process gives this celebrity beer its distinctive nice, crisp and clean taste that is refreshing, mild and invigorating at the same time. With its alcohol content of 5.5% and original gravity at 12.0%, this easy and light beer is best suited with seafood BBQ and mild cheese.

111 Zwickl Beer
This interesting range of beer was created in year 2000 by the master brewers of Auerbrau to celebrate their 111 years of successful brewing history. This refreshing trendy product possesses a sparkling full bodied and full flavoured characteristic and has a hint of flower and mild yeasty flavor. With 5.0% of alcohol content and 11.8% original gravity, beer lovers will love the wholesome taste that is soft on the palate. This easy drinking beer is best paired with summer salads, grilled seafood or chicken, cold platters and cheese.  Packaged in a fancy cartoon label and sealed with an unusual ring pull opening, the 111 Zwickl is said to deliver great taste, exceptional design and modern packaging all in one bottle.
