We are invited yet to another beer outlet, this time around we are invited to Mark’s place at Plaza Kelana Jaya. Mark is the owner, hence the place is called Mark’s place. The phoenix is his favourite mystical creature that you can see it in the logo of this place. If you can spot a guy with a phoenix tattoo, that’s the boss.

We started out with some food tasting, my favourite of the night is the Sizzling Pork that you wrap with lettuce. The fresh lettuce give the crunchy feel with the hot Sizzling Pork give out the texture and taste, nicely done. Then wash down with few sips of beer… only two word “Reeeefrehsing awesome”.

Beside that they have a lot of snack food with beer to go with, they have Quesadilla, Chicken Wings, Salmon Sushi, Soft Shelf Crab, Pizza, Macaroni and many many more. We are spoiled with the food tasting, is a nice combination of food taste with beer. The food is not too strong in flavour just nice to go with beer.

The place is very cosy, with lamp that look like wine glass to light up the place. The place have those rustic yet modern feel to it. I wish they have more sofa rather then the normal tables and chairs. Is very relaxing place. Even the bar area is a nice hang out place.

For those who don’t like to sit inside, there always an option of drinking at the corridor. Is quite breezy outside especially after rain, the corridor is a good choice with slow wind breeze blowing through while cold beer gushing in the throat. I think I have sounded too poetic… haha

Certain days, they will have live band. Live band always turn on the crowds, I like how live band can make people sing together, this the best factor of live band. For me, I think the band area is blocking the lake view from the drinker and dinners. Maybe Mark should do something about it.

Then I spotted the VIP area, that have nice sofa. They also have a pool table for those who are game for ball banging enter hole thing, I mean pool (you must be thinking dirty stuff). With the pool table isolated from the crowd, you don’t need to worry about people walking by disturbing your concentration.

Is a simple interior set up with lots of space to move around. The lighting and wood interior did make this place cosy and nice. Now to thing of it, I think the signage should be in yellow or orange colour to blend with the interior… haha

As for beer, the usual stuff Tiger, Guinness, Kilkenny and some bottles to go by. Nothing fancy on the selection. But after a hard days work, a pint of Guinness will work for me in this place, that I bet I will end with more then one.

At the bar they have hidden treasure, not the bartender but the single malt selection. If you are a big fans of whisky, should come here and try the whisky selection.

The down side of the place is the crowd, as the office surrounding the area is still not fully occupied, the traffic to this area is not strong, but this place have many potential if you want some nice cosy place to simply pair your food and drink or just have a chill night with you friend, then Mark’s Place is a good choice to be in. Hope the place will have more crowd and make Plaza Kelana Jaya more happening. Cheers!

Sanook is really mean fun in Thai. This place is situated in Plaza Kelana Jaya, a nice chill place facing the lake, which make this area one good hang out place. This is still quite a new area, many don’t even know this place existent.

Facing the lake make this place very airy and quite nice when the breeze of wind brush through. Sanook do have a simple setup which make it chill and cosy. Most people are sited for the views and the breeze. Come early if you want to get a good spot.

They have a nice bar inside too, if you just want to have some beer and chat with friends or even watch some sports. But I would rather sit outside and enjoy some chill breeze. I didn’t got any mosquito bite, so I can ensure any insect will bother you… haha

The dinner crowd is good, very spacious to move around and they even have a musician to sing and play some slow tunes to relax up the crowd. Overall the environment is not bad,

Sanook named the ground floor as Alfresco. Sound very spanish or italian to me, maybe they will make you feel like dancing salsa after the meal. Talking about food, they do have a good variety of choices in the menu.

We order pasta, pizza and finger food. The best is their fries with cheese and garlic a must try if you are there. As after dinner and if you are bored, you can always hop to upstairs to get some party going.

Sanook named the second floor Arriba. Which for me really sound like a party area and remind me of Speedy Gonzalez. You can chill outside with friends and chit chat without the noise or you can chill inside and have some groove going.

They do know how to make a good bar, both upstairs and downstairs showcase a nice bar area. Lovely to come in and have a few drinks on the bar.

If you like dark pub area, this is not a bad place to be. You can shoot some pool with friends and enjoy some simple beer. The choices of beer here are Guinness, Tiger & Kilkenny. They do have other alcohol if you prefer to open bottle.

Overall this place reminds me of Souled Out. A 1-stop place where you can dine, drinks and party all under one roof. By splitting it to 2 floor which are different environment give customer a lot of choices to chill in. The boss told us that many more idea will come soon. They will make Plaza Kelana Jaya a happening place. So we have to wait and see. Cheers!
